RTI (Right to Information) Committee

The RTI (Right to Information) Committee in a science college is responsible for ensuring transparency, accountability, and proper implementation of the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 within the institution. The committee facilitates the process of receiving and responding to RTI applications from students, staff, or the public seeking information related to college administration, academics, finance, and other official matters. It assists the designated Public Information Officer (PIO) in collecting accurate information from different departments and ensures timely replies within the stipulated period. The committee also maintains proper records of RTI requests and responses, creates awareness among staff and students about RTI rules and responsibilities, and ensures that confidential or exempted information is handled as per legal guidelines. Additionally, it supports transparency practices in the college and helps in maintaining compliance for audits, government inspections, and accreditation processes such as NAAC.
